It has been quite a year for Hughes, who took over as group COO in April of this year following PointsBet’s €36m acquisition of Dublin-based in-play betting specialist Banach Technology.

Serving as CEO for nearly six years, Hughes co-founded Banach with Rob Reck, Alex Zevenbergen and Hadrien Lepretre, all of whom played a leading role in establishing the Quants department at Paddy Power (now Flutter Entertainment).
