Gaming Intelligence Hot 50
Asociación de Loterías Estatales Argentinas and IPLyC BA
Omar Galdurralde was appointed Chairman of the Buenos Aires regulator in 2020. Since then, he has backed the regulation of online gaming in the province, with Argentina’s regulations having to be developed province by province. Buenos Aires is now the reference point for the rest of the country, and it was Omar who helped to launch it, despite the concept being enacted by his predecessor, María Eugenia Vidal. This year Omar has been elected as president of the Asociación de Loterías Estatales Argentinas (ALEA), a position from which he is working to improve responsible gaming initiatives and fighting against illegal gambling in the country. In Argentina, it is the lotteries that are responsible for online regulations in each province. Omar is leading the drive forward in responsible gambling initiatives and contributing to the development of iGaming across the country. This is a formidable achievement and worthy of a Hot 50 accolade.
