Under Shannon DeHaven’s leadership, the Michigan Lottery has set the benchmark in establishing North America’s first $1bn iLottery operation. DeHaven has been there the whole way, helping to launch a successful iLottery platform that will deliver close to $2bn in annual sales in FY2020.

Since launching in late 2014, Michigan’s total iLottery sales have grown to a staggering $4.8bn. In those six years, the growth in iLottery has returned $500m to the state’s School Aid Fund – a phenomenal achievement.

There is more to come from both Michigan and DeHaven, who is showing the way forward for other US lotteries through a commitment to educating industry peers and colleagues looking to build their own successful iLottery programme.
